Lake Wakatipu ..... Lake Wakatipu
provides year-round water activities offering
cruises, yachting, windsurfing, water-skiing, and
fishing. The vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw,
known as Lady of the Lake, has been transporting
passengers and goods around Lake Wakatipu since
1912.
Skippers Park ..... Situated in
Skippers Canyon on the site of the original gold
strikes, Skippers Park encompasses 20 acres
which includes Winky's Museum, Pipeline Bungy,
Skippers Canyon Jet and The Pipeline Walkway
(longest single span suspension bridge in the
Southern hemisphere), also under reconstruction
is a working gold mining area.
Shotover Jet ..... Climb aboard for an
exhilarating high speed jet boat ride through
Shotover River Canyon. Your expert driver puts
both you and the boat through it's paces,
twisting and turning with only inches to spare.
Bungy Jumping .....Give yourself a
massive dose of adrenalin, and throw yourself
off a bridge or platform high above the ground
with legs attached to a rubber band. The biggest
challenge is to overcome your fear and do it!
White Water Rafting ..... Great for
first time rafters if the Kawerau River, with
four exciting rapids and calmer seas in between.
Or for those looking for extra thrill and
excitement, the wild and untamed Shotover River
will take your breath away.
Tandem Skydive ..... This immense
personal challenge takes all the courage one can
conjour up. Terminal velocity as you plummet
towards the earth at 200kph with your qualified
jumpmaster attached to your back.
Coronet Peak and The Remarkables .....
Coronet Peak is only 20 minutes from Queenstown
and the terrain is unequalled in New Zealand.
Recommended for intermediate to expert skier.
The Remarkables are also close to Queenstown and
ideal for learners to intermediate. The view from
the top is spectacular.
Arrowtown ..... The discovery of gold
in the Arrow River led gold diggers and miners
by the thousands in to this district. Arrowtown
is a fascinating living historic town with
displays of it's pioneering past all around. The
gravels of the river still contain some gold
today.
Things to see & do in Wanaka - New Zealand
Lake Wanaka .... Located
right at the heart of the southern lakes, Wanaka
is the gateway to the Mt. Aspiring National Park,
internationally renowned for its glaciers and
magnificent tramping and climbing. The mountains
surrounding the lake provide a winter paradise for
snow lovers featuring top ski fields and heliski
facilities. The town itself features a pretty
shopping village with a wide variety of ambient
areas to relax, eat and unwind.
Puzzling World .... “The
Great Maze” is the first of the world’s
“modern-style” great mazes. It is two storeys
high and has 1.5 kilometres of confusing passages.
“Puzzling World” is full of eccentric shaped
buildings and puzzling rooms. Some are world
unique and the others could be world best!
N.Z Fighter Pilots Museum ....
Displays at the museum include photographic boards
that cover the history of both the RNZAF & New
Zealand RAF Squadrons as well as information on
the life of a fighter pilot and the many and
varied roles they undertook - especially during
World War II. Mannequin and medal displays,
personal stories and unique personal presentations
of memorabilia are also a feature.
